Gettin' Political with Milky

I distrust 94% of all politicians. I haven't decided who I would cast a presidential vote for yet (assuming my main man Ron Paul is officially out of the running by then), but one name that was crossed off the list a long time ago was Hillary Clinton. Her embodiment of pure evil can be summed up by her absence at today's senate vote. There was a vote today "To strike the provisions providing immunity from civil liability to electronic communication service providers for certain assistance provided to the Government." Barack Obama was there (he voted in favor). Why isn't Hillary Clinton in Washington DC, representing her constituents in New York who elected her to serve as a Senator for their fair state, and to vote in their interests on important matters of concern such as this? Because she doesn't give a shit. About you, about this country. I don't know what, exactly, she DOES give a shit about... but I hope we never find out.

To quote Angela Worden (some random person): "The question is, Can you eat hope? Can you wear hope? When your house is foreclosed, can you live in a house made of hope? I think the answer is no.

Give me a president who is competent, who can bring results. What has Barack Obama done to inspire confidence?"

As for saving the phone companies from lawsuits, :

Clinton showing up for the vote did not matter. The outcome was a forgone conclusion. Besides, your beef should be with the government, not the phone companies.

1. I voted for Ron Paul.

2. Barack Obama has inspired confidence by being intelligent. This is not hard to do, though, given the current leadership.

3. Clinton not showing up DOES matter. As you yourself point out, Obama may be long on words but short on action. A legislator's voting record is their only true voice. Clinton isn't saying much in that regard.

I'm not a die hard Hillary supporter, but since both her and Obama are running on idea that Edwards brought into the race, I'm voting for the one who does it better (that'd be Clinton). Ask yourself how Obama's healthcare plan is supposed to lower costs if you don't have to buy into until you get sick. Hmmm...insurance works because healthy folks pay their premium and, hence, subsidize those who are sick. Obama's lack of economic analysis in this respect shows a lack of intelligence.

As to your third part. www.votesmart.org lists the voting record for all current and former elected officials. Guess who has more instances of not voting on National Security Issues? That's right, Obama.

Finally, what is with the irrational hatred of Hillary Clinton? It's like people hate her and then come up with dumb reasons to support that hatred.

Just wanted to add:

"Among the presidential contenders, Senator John McCain, Republican of Arizona, voted in favor of the final measure, while the two Democrats, Senator Barack Obama of Illinois and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, did not vote. Mr. Obama did oppose immunity on a key earlier motion to end debate. Mrs. Clinton, campaigning in Texas, issued a statement saying she would have voted to oppose the final measure."

If only Obama had taken time off from campaigning in the Potomac region to vote when it would actually count...guess we can't vote for him now.

Obama voted in favor of the amendment to strike the immunity clause. Clinton did not vote.

Obama voted against ending debate on the bill. Clinton did not vote.

Neither voted on final passage.

This is not a national security issue. This is a liberty issue.

Insurance also works because of being solvent and profitable.

Last, I don't know why so many people hate her. I don't. I'd just prefer not to have someone so polarizing as president. The us-vs-them, red state/blue state mentality is what creates the awful problem of entrenched politics, corruption and waste.

p.s. Milky please post more political commentary.
